eastern beach house
new house, auckland, new zealand winner nzia auckland branch awards for architecture 2022 this family home is located on auckland’s eastern beach, looking out to waiheke Island. conceived as a simple suspended timber form, containing the bedrooms and a private living area, supported on a series of precast concrete walls that define the living and service spaces to the ground floor. This upper form is then penetrated by a series of horizontal and vertical voids, to visually break up it’s mass. Leaving a delicate timber screen where the form has been deconstructed.
